How to store it
The whole watermelon should not be kept in the refrigerator because the skin dehydrates, affecting its lifespan and taste. We suggest storing it in a cool place and placing it in the refrigerator only a couple of hours before eating. Once opened, it should be put in the fridge covered with a film and eaten within 2 or 3 days.
High water and mineral salt content which give it diuretic and purifying properties.
The pulp provides potassium and magnesium, useful to combat the sense of exhaustion due to heat and refreshing after sports activity. It helps combat free radicals because it is rich in vitamin C, lycopene and beta-carotene, with antioxidant properties.
It is also one of the fruits with the highest concentration of citrulline, an amino acid capable of stimulating the cardiovascular system and useful for the metabolism.
A healthy fruit, which besides quenching thirst, provides valuable nutrients in very few calories: 30Kcal/100gr.
